The region encompasses the land between the Potomac River on the North to the Rappahannock River on the South, to Smith Point and Reedville on the Bay to the East, extending westward to the town of Colonial Beach. This is a laid back rural region with scattered small towns. A great location to escape high stress and congested traffic. This area is often overlooked by out-of-state visitors, but many vacationers may find the Northern Neck a diamond-in-the-ruff. Anglers can reach anywhere in the region in two hours driving time from Washington D.C., Richmond or Hampton Roads. Marinas, ramps and dining facilities are numerous. However, lodging facilities are limited. Reserve a room in advance before leaving. The fishing season begins a little later and ends a bit sooner here.
